11 June 2025 – At the heart of this year’s brand campaigns for Prague.eu and V Praze jako doma (At Home in Prague) is an original digital game: Playing Prague. Created by the independent studio Charles Games for Prague City Tourism, the game celebrates the city’s talents, innovation, and vibrant gaming culture. It’s a challenge for seasoned puzzle enthusiasts and casual players alike. Each level highlights a different borough, with increasing difficulty and familiar landmarks gradually revealing the joy of discovering Prague in the real world. Prague is launching its summer marketing campaigns, Prague.eu and V Praze jako doma, to boost both domestic and inbound tourism. The digital Prague.eu campaign targets ten key international markets, headed by Germany. Meanwhile, the domestic-focused V Praze jako doma campaign will be visible across TV spots, print advertising, and online formats. The star attraction is the newly released, unique game Playing Prague by Charles Games, designed not only to attract visitors, but also to draw talent to the city and support the Study in Prague initiative, which encourages international students to choose the Czech capital for their studies. “Through this year’s campaigns, centred on the launch of Playing Prague, we present Prague as an open, inspiring metropolis that captivates people not only with its historic landmarks, but also with its modern approach to traveller experiences. This digital game blends fun with discovery and ignites a deeper curiosity about Prague, its stories, culture, and heritage,” says Jiří Pospíšil, Prague’s deputy mayor responsible for culture and tourism. “We view gaming as a universal language of today, resonating with young audiences worldwide. We believe that combining the city’s identity with a high-quality logic game holds tremendous potential, not only for branding, but also in deepening the bond that visitors and locals feel towards Prague,” adds Jana Adamcová, vice-chair of Prague City Tourism’s Board. “Every detail in the game honours Prague’s millennia-old cultural heritage and reflects the exceptional talent of its homegrown creators,” she adds. The creative design masterfully blends game design, education, and urban storytelling, with Prague as the heroine. In each level, players build the city’s iconic landmarks, discover historical figures linked to Prague, such as Věra Čáslavská, Mozart, and Kafka, and learn about the city’s rich cultural tapestry through engaging interactions. The game features traditional house signs depicted as card symbols, Prague’s distinctive cobblestones, its famous towers, and the vintage tram as in-game objectives. “Playing Prague is a relaxing puzzle game in which players build the city through combinations and strategically arrange patterns to unlock new levels. Each level is dedicated to an iconic Prague landmark,” explains Lukáš Kolek from Charles Games, adding, “We aimed to capture the unique atmosphere of Prague, a city we love. We also wanted to give players the chance to create a little bit of their own Prague – their own unique metropolis grows along the banks of the Vltava and around Petřín as they complete game challenges.” There’s something for everyone: whether you prefer to leisurely explore Prague from the Powder Tower to Petřín, learning about its monuments and personalities, or are driven to score highly and probe the most strategic ways to arrange cards and connect locations like a puzzle. Playing Prague is available free from 11 June 2025 on Google Play and the App Store in three languages: Czech, English, and German. The game is a joint project between Prague City Tourism and Charles Games. Everything is connected via a new landing page, prague.eu/game, where players can also find accompanying content, including stories of historical figures and cultural tips from Prague.
