Playing Prague, the game accompanying this year’s marketing campaigns, wins prestigious CEEGA Award for Best Mobile Game

30 October 2025 – Playing Prague, the mobile game developed for Prague City Tourism by independent studio Charles Games, has won a prestigious CEEGA (Central and Eastern European Game Award) for 2025 Best Mobile Game of the Year. Presented at the Game Industry Conference in Poznań, the award recognises a game dedicated to Prague’s history and landmarks that has already been downloaded by nearly 80,000 users and is set to be expanded.

“We’re delighted that Prague’s link with a digital game has enjoyed success and recognition,” says Jana Adamcová, Vice-Chair of the Prague City Tourism Board. “The game is designed to deepen the connection that international and domestic visitors feel with the city, while reinforcing its positive image. “With almost 80,000 downloads in just four months, our tribute to gaming and Prague’s creative talent has proven to be the right choice for this year’s marketing campaigns.”
Prague City Tourism and Charles Games are now working on an extension to Playing Prague, which will add new levels and allow players to explore more areas of the city, including Vyšehrad, Prague Castle, and Holešovice. The update is scheduled for release next year.

Looking at the winners and finalists, our game stands alongside globally acclaimed titles with large budgets and player communities. Playing Prague was launched in mid-June as a joint project between Prague City Tourism and Charles Games. This relaxing six-level logic puzzle invites players to recreate iconic Prague landmarks through a distinctive pattern-building mechanic, serving as a symbolic tribute to the generations who have shaped the city over the centuries. It also highlights Prague’s game-development talent and promotes the Study in Prague programme.

The game is available free of charge from Google Play and the App Store in Czech, English, and German. Further languages, including Korean, Japanese, French, Italian, Polish, Dutch, and Spanish, will be added by the end of the year. All this is linked through the landing page at prague.eu/hra, where visitors can access the game and explore additional content, such as the stories of local figures and cultural tips on Prague.
