3 December 2025, Prague – In the run-up to Christmas, Prague City Tourism and the game studio Charles Games have prepared a gift for everyone who loves Prague and for all players of the successful mobile game Playing Prague. Just as the city becomes cloaked in a winter atmosphere, the game itself is taking on a winter look. Players can now wander through snow-covered Prague directly on their phones. This has also been an opportunity for Playing Prague to expand with seven new language versions, allowing the game to reach even more international visitors. Playing Prague, a mobile game created for Prague City Tourism by the independent studio Charles Games as a tribute to talent, innovation, and gaming, has been downloaded by almost 80,000 users since June. This autumn, the game attracted significant attention after winning a prestigious Central and Eastern European Game Award (CEEGA) for Best Mobile Game of 2025. The winter update is available to all existing users as a standard in-app release. Those downloading the game for the first time will receive the winter version straight away. “By expanding the game with seven new languages, we are making Playing Prague accessible to additional potential visitors. Interest in the game continues to increase, and the recent award was a great boost for us. It is great to see players discovering Prague with such ease and playfulness,” explains Jana Adamcová, Vice-Chair of the Prague City Tourism Board. “For us, it is a sign that this year’s tribute to gaming and Prague talent in our marketing campaigns was the right choice,” she adds. Initially available in Czech, English, and German, the game can now be played in Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Korean, and Japanese. Further expansion is planned for 2026. “The new version gives Prague a winter makeover and brings an atmosphere of tranquillity under a blanket of snow. We are pleased that the game continues to grow and move forwards. Translating and fine-tuning it, especially into Korean and Japanese, was a challenge, but seeing it finished is wonderful, and it can now reach new regions as a result,” concludes Lukáš Kolek, CEO of Charles Games. The game is now available free of charge on Google Play and the App Store, as is the update. Everything is linked through the landing page prague.eu/game, where users will find the game and supplementary content, including people’s stories and cultural tips from Prague.
